Over the past few years, Lorimerworks has started to accumulate quite a bit of work and recently I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to showcase some of our favorites so that they are accessible to our client and fans.

I found the template of my website a little confining and though my blog is a great place to debut work it does not serve as a place to showcase our portfolio in whole.

Enter SmugMug. Not only is the video quality stunning when hosted at SmugMug but the fact that you can customize your pages to match your branding and tastes has made it an easy choice and a great solution to my needs.

We created a homepage that clearly showcases our work in a variety of categories such as Photographer promos, Business profiles and even a few weddings. In the near future I plan to add a miscellaneous gallery where I can post things that I may not necessarily blog or upload to my traditional site. The flexibility is a huge plus!. Check it out!

I’ve blogged about our trip and about the trailer I released a few months back. I’m happy to report the the main documentary is complete. It was an experience of a lifetime to work on this project. I hope in the end it achieves its purpose which is to bring some help and relief to those in need through Thirst Relief International.

Thank you to everyone involved, especially Jim Davis-Hicks for choosing Lorimerworks to tell the story of the amazing work you’re doing around the world, to Bob and Dawn Davis for all of your talent and giving hearts, Kenny Kim for helping tell the story through still imagery.

Spread the word and feel free to blog and embed the video.

Documentary: Main Feature 14 min, Short Promo 4 min

  • Incredible videos Anton! These videos can and I’m sure will spread an immense amount of awareness about the necessity of clean drinking water that so many need and just don’t have. Looks like you all did a great job over there. Great videos.

  • how can i get the embed code??

A few months back I had the pleasure of going out to Boston to shoot a few promos. One of which was for fashion and boudoir photographer Shannon Michelle. It was my first time to Boston and I met a lot of great people, wish I had more time there, next boston promo I guess.

This project was a bit different as we weren’t out and about shooting a bridal couple rather inside playing with angles and lighting. I think it made for a great mix of mood and intimacy while communicating Shannon’s love for what she does.

San Francisco to Dubai to Dar Es Salaam, 22hrs of flying and over 10,000 miles. You can’t get much further away from San Francisco than Tanzania in distance and in some respects, life. It was a trip of a lifetime and I’m looking forward to editing the main documentary however in the meantime I’ve put together a quick trailer to wet some appetites.

Over the last year it has been a slow migration from my traditional camcorder(XH-A1) to shooting 100% Canon DSLRs but it has happened. Bob Davis and I shot all of our footage on the 5D & 7D. In post I went for something a little non traditional in terms of this type of video, we went with a little more of an urban edge. Hope you like.

  • Very nice. Looking forward to seeing the rest of this.

  • well…i already LOVE the trailer…i can’t wait to see the finished product…but you know i’m such a fan of your work & it will be nothing less than stellar!!! thank you for sharing!!!

  • Anton,

You never cease to amaze me. I know the final product you create will be absolutely amazing and it will show the desperate need for clean water and what Thirst Relief International is doing to help. You, Bob, Jim and Kenny inspire the rest of us to continue to give back, not only financially, but through the talents we have been blessed by God.

Bob and I have always been huge supporters of Thrist Relief Int’l. Ih hope this inspires others to support their efforts as well.

Thank you for this trailer… can’t wait to see more.

From the onset of working with Graphistudio I had  hoped to eventually make it to their headquarters in Italy, to see their factory and of course the elusive castle that I’ve heard so much about. So you can imagine I was pretty excited to get the call to go out and create a promo for them this summer. It was an incredible trip. The food alone was worth it with three hour meals, I ate more prosciutto than should be legal. I did find time however to shoot a bit.

It was a tall order to fly to Italy, shoot a factory, a castle and interview various people in hopes to create a promo video that wasn’t about any one person or product but a whole company and its culture and passion. I quickly found there was no shortage of passion in Italy which in turn inspired me further to create this profile that I hope communicates Graphi’s enthusiasm and dedication to their product and customers.

Special thanks to the Graphistudio team, Keith Thompson and of course Jim and Katarina Garner.

It’s been an amazing year with so many people and places responsible. Our next trip seems a fitting wrap to the Lorimerworks 2009 schedule, AFRICA.

Nov. 2-12, 20o9: One team, one purpose . . . to document the work of Thirst Relief International and show how life saving Bio-Sand Water Filters and wells can save lives! Jim Davis-Hicks will lead the documentary expedition of Bob Davis, Kenny Kim and myself, Anton Lorimer into Tanzania to film, photograph and tell the story of people like pastor Mwambungu who makes a living building and installing thirst relief filters while caring for the needs of his fellow villagers. See how one filter, one well, one person can impact the lives of so many.

  • Heard about this from KennyKim’s tweet - all the best for this trip!

Earlier this summer I had the pleasure of making the drive down to Santa Barbara to shoot a promo for a friend and great photographer, Art Suwansang. We had a great time, shooting everywhere from the Mission Santa Barbara, to an urban setting(as urban as you can get in S.B) to cliffs overlooking the ocean. Shot on both my conventional Canon camcorder and the 5D MarkII. Thanks Art for trusting us with your promo!

We’ve blogged about the trip and posted a trailer to it. Working in France was an awesome opportunity and Laura and Paul made things so easy and fun. Thanks guys, it was a great experience and I’m sad to wrap things up, but it’s time to get the promo out there and show the world who you are :) Check out their site.
La fin.

Trailers are always fun to edit. They’re short and sweet and allow for a build up to the release of the promo.Get a quick taste of the next promo we have coming down the pike. Shot in France, the Laura Eaton Photography trailer gives a quick dramatic glance at their upcoming promo.

Greetings from Venice, Italy!  We arrived in Venice to start another exciting project with Graphistudio.  We are here to capture quintessential Italian style, craftsmanship & beauty,  everything that is Graphistudio.  We are looking forward to visiting their new factory and headquarters in Maniago, just north of Venice.

Venice also represents romance and for us that is especially true since this is where I proposed to Abby 9 years ago in the Campo de San Sofia.  We enjoyed our first day here wandering the narrow streets, eating in a cozy trattoria and talking late into the night.  It’s been an amazing first day!  Here are some pictures:
